Present were the N. C. Highway Patrol, Rutherford- Polk Mental Health, Tryon Community Schools, Tryon Police and the Polk County Sheriff's Dept. The safety officer for the N. C. Highway Patrol Jeter Wilds was also present. The rodeo demonstrated how alcohol will affect your driving and how the breatholizer shows the amount of alcohol you have consumed. Also present were TV cameras from WLOS-TV and WSPA-TV. The progress will be given by Rick Watson, Director of Substance Abuse Services, Polk-Rutherford County Mental Health Dept, and Miss Deborah Johnson, Asst Extension Agent. Programs will be held on Thursday, May 13 at 9:30 a.m. at the Tryon First Baptist Church and on Tuesday, May 18 at 1:30 p.m. at Peniel Baptist Church Fellowship Hall and again at 7:30 p.m. in the conference room of the agricultural building in Columbus. Asheville School had blanked the Tigers 9-0 earlier in the season. Tryon won the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4 singles and the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles in a match that was 4-4 with the No. 2 doubles match still in progress. The results were as follows: Scott Wray (T) d. He weighed 7 lbs. 4 oz Maternal grandparents are Mr and Mrs. Theo Kerhulas of Tryon and the maternal great- grandmother is Mrs. Ashton Can- Walton of Richmond, Va. Paternal grandparents are Mr and Mrs. Edwin G. Giese of Milwaukee, Wis.
